I've seen a lot about the two Ryan players in our recruiting crosshairs, but haven't seen much regarding players at perennially-stacked Guyer or Denton High.

Are there any players at those schools who can help us?

I'm sure there are.

I would be thrilled if we could land Washington State commit Gatlin Grisso out of Aubrey. Kid is a baller.

This kid would be HUGE in this system

John Lanz - Guyer

No Offer showing from Us Committed to TCU. Non the less, why no offer?

I'm not sure this staff would do that to their former boss/coach.

Nah. It's business. If anything, the pirate would probably commend them for getting a local kid to flip. Kid is a gamer.

^^^ yeah WHY ON EARTH NOT THAT GUY?

after watching his hudl he seems just so so.

I'd be more than happy to offer and land him. If all 3 service academies want him, they see something in him that I would like to have at UNT.

No not at all. This is the exact kind of recruits we want. If we offered, that would be 4 FBS offers. That's gravy. We need these kind of kids to build and sustain.

Service academy offers are equivalent to FCS level talent IMO. They bring in same type of kids.

Along the OL, absolutely. There is a height/weight military standard. If you exceed your weight based off of your height, you can still pass weigh in if your body fat is 16 or 17% or less. Therefore, they have to recruit leaner OL which forces their hand to run the offensive systems that they do. So to an extent, I agree with you in some cases. But not all.

And with a HS DT at 6'2" and 280lb coming out of high school, I have to disagree. He would be our 3rd biggest DT if he committed today, and he's currently on a high school roster.

Reason a 6'2 280 pound DL doesn't have anything except service academies.  He is either not good enough or isn't 6'2.
