This does not sound optimistic at all.
If the team has his same attitude, this game will be over before the end of the 1st quarter.

I take no game for granted after Portland State and hope the team does not either.

Folks need to stop trying to compare this game to Portland State.  The context of the two games are polar opposites
If you don't know the differences between that game, and any other game really, you weren't paying very close attention in 2015.

^This.   If I remember correctly, Portland State had just beaten Washington State.    Am I right?

He's referring to the context of the 2015 versus 2017 seasons. The 2015 team had quit under McCarney, nobody believed his BS coach speak anymore. He had lost the team completely and they showed that by laying down and taking their beating in an embarrassing enough fashion that RV had no choice but to fire McCarney and let Chico finish the season. The QB situation was completely screwed up and consequently there was absolutely no internal leadership on that team worth mentioning.

For 2017 everyone has bought into Littrell and staff and his message/values. They are working their ass off to win because they want to, the leadership is there, the fire is back. There's internal and external accountability.

Completely different scenarios.

You should keep in mind that just before game the players heard the leak that all the coaches would be fired at the end of the season and Mac would be gone for the off week. That is on RV 100%.

Although,
This did happen, and likely made Portland State extremely confident rolling in here.    Wouldn't have mattered if North Texas wanted to play that day.
