Hey everyone, in 9 months I'm going to be applying to medical school. One of the thing admissions committees want to see is experience shadowing a physician. For those who did internships or shadowing while at UNT how did you go about doing that? I really don't know where to start as far as getting in contact with someone to talk about this kind of thing. Thanks in advance.

Austin..check out USUHS. Son and daughter-in-law both graduated med school there. They, like all the students, got paid to attend and got their M.D.'S with zero debt and money in the bank!

They did pick up a little service commitment, but it is an excellent med school. They use a rolling admissions selection process as well.

Check it out: Uniformed Seevices University of the Health Sciences. Bethesda, MD.

Congrats on having a couple of really smart kids, just make sure they take care of you as you start to get older haha. My oldest brother was/is a marine who was injured in Afghanistan several years back and now my parents absolutely refuse to let us work with the military (even though another older brother and my sister both went in after that happened). Thanks for the information, but I am mainly looking at Texas schools right now.

Picking up a job as a medical scribe might be a great way to get shadowing experience as you're literally following a doctor around during your shifts.
