UTSA’s defense suffered a blow over the weekend when defensive end Solomon Wise suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Head coach Frank Wilson said the injury occurred during Saturday’s workouts.

“He jumped and just hyper-extended his knee,” Wilson said following Tuesday’s practice at the school. “He will be out for the season.”

Joking.  I really hate to hear this as I know his dad.  Very good family from everything I know.  I hope he comes back stronger than ever and dominates all but one game on the schedule next year.

They open against Houston and Baylor.

Hopefully they find a replacement in camp and can bring CUSA some national attention by landing an upset or two.

I don't remember why he chose them over us--was it anything specific or did he just like the idea of going away from home for college more than anything else?

I'm not sure.   Last time I talked to his dad was during the recruiting process.  As the results show, I'm not much of a recruiter.

Are we sure we offered? I was looking at his 247 profile and Im not showing any other offers other than Utsa but then again, they are not the greatest at accuracy

I know he visited and had some interest, but we may not have offered.  When I say he had interest, I just mean that he was open to coming here at some point in the recruiting process.  His interest could have been very minimal for all I know.
