So we are pursuing this dude but didn't bother to make a real effort towards @Cooley's nephew? Sad state of  affairs. We should've tried to capitalize on the familial connection instead of just throwing our hat in the ring with this guy.

And who knows if he actually had interest in UNT?   If Uncle Cooley is in his ear about UNT, I'm sure Calvin, out of respect, listened... but likely already had his sights set higher.   Littrell & Co may have been told "no thanks" at the jump.
Lots of possible scenarios.    If he winds up going to a C-USA rival, SMU, or Houston, then there's a concern.  If he winds up going to a SEC/Big12 school, then it's not worth fretting over anyway.
