I don't know Emmitt as well as I would like, but I do know this:

It is awesome to see the career progression of one of our own. That the career is in law enforcement makes it better. That the new role will be focused on leadership is even better. Emmitt is a leader, a leader his men and women will respect, follow and serve in a way that will honor the position and Emmitt. I am very happy for you Emmitt and know you will do the kind of job that will attract the interest of other, perhaps larger departments soon.

Also, FYI, there will be a total eclipse of the sun on the day Emmitt takes office (path of totality passes north of us but we will have a good partial eclipse).

Didn't notice that was Keene.  I grew up Adventist and had several high school classmates from there.  Healthy eaters, I suppose.  Teetotalling vegetarians who in my time drank their caffeine in the closet.  If he's gonna eat food brought to the station, I hope he's a fan of veggie burgers and haystacks (the ultimate Adventist cultural food.  Look it up).

I did. It sounds like a vegetarian taco salad or Frito pie.

Interesting comment about "drinking their caffeine in the closet". My late mother, a practicing Christian Scientist, always had Sanka in the house so that she could have coffee and not violate the churches ban on caffeine. Trouble is, she developed a love of Dr. Peppers. It wasn't till after I left home (thank goodness) that some friend of hers pointed out that she had been drinking caffeine all those years......and probably in higher doses than Coffee.
