2 of the 4 preseason All-CUSA defensive backs. Our pass defense should be pretty stout next season. When was the last time we had two All-conference anything in preseason at least?

Probably 2014.  At least Phil Steele had 3 UNT players as 1st team all-CUSA.

Jeff was injured at the end of the season, and even if he wasn't, he likely wouldn't have beat out either of those guys.  Go take a look at Lawry's & Smith's stats & you'll see why.

No it isn't odd that Wilson didn't make the list

https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/jeffrey-wilson-2.html

vs.

https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/ray-lawry-1.html

or

https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/ito-smith-1.html

both of those guys have more than 1,000 yards more than Jeff Wilson.  They also both have at least twice as many TDs.

Well Just like you do in Sales, its always what have you done for me lately not a Career whole so if you look at just last year I can see your argument for Ito Smith but not Ray Lawry.

Wilson had 3 more total touchdowns, more receiving yards/receptions and didnt play the entirety of the 11 games that they show. He is only off Lawry's rushing output by 31 carries and 319 yards.

I can see your argument about Trevor Moore but hitting 99 consecutive extra points isnt a stat that you can thumb your nose at.

That's over 10yds/carry... quite a bit.

We're all Jeff Wilson fans here, and I bet he shows up on 2nd team Offense, but as of right now, those two deserve their accolades over Wilson.
I hope Wilson uses this as a little more motivation this year.

Besides, post season is what really matters.

Need to see guys like Jenkins, Moore, Wilson, Young/English, and then a WR on the list for 2nd and honorable mention...

If that happens then we will have had a successful year

Man back in our Belt hey day we would have like every player 1st team -  it was so fun to be that dominant and it was the truth.  So look forward to that day again!

Jenkins and Moore I think would likely be 2nd team or even honorable mention now...

Young/English will hopefully have a break out year, and hopefully a healthy/ slightly less used Wilson (because of Nic Smith hopefully emerging) will led to him to being healthy all year, and Guyton should be a physical mismatch which with solid QB play he could be an honorable!

Fingers crossed, alot rests on the OL and QB

What's crazy is that none of utsa's 4 players on the list were heavily recruited.  The deep snapper appears to be a walk on, the OL was an unrated no offer JUCO, the LB was the kid from Lake Dallas that we passed on and had one other offer, and the DL was a 2 star one other offer guy just like the LB.  Scary thing is that the higher ranked kids that Wilson brought in should start having an impact soon.

But offer lists and star ratings are the most important...
