A very smart move in my opinion. It is a great way for the athletic department build and maintain new contacts for the Mean Green Club. This move alone should help increase attendance by a few hundred this season. A few years of this, and we might be looking at an average attendance of over 25K. Thank you Mr. Baker.

Yep.  Love that they are trying to find new ways to help keep recent grads connected to the University.  This is part of a University-wide effort to find new ways to keep our grads connected.  Much much easier to keep them connected than to try to get them to reconnect after years of neglect.  So, bravo!  Now, I want to se the results. I am a tad skeptical of "freebies" in this arena, but you really do not know until you try.  Does this program reduce actual ticket buyers?  Will new grads who would be going to the games and paying for tickets at some level now just grad the free ones?  Will these tickets count in our "season ticket numbers"?  Lots of questions, but I am sure these areas were discussed in meetings leading up to this program being rolled out. So, here's a "way to go" for trying something new and here's hoping this is a great success.  You never know for sure unless you try.

For what it's worth, when logging on to the ticket site and putting in the promo code, it says there are no tickets left at that promo.

GA is also apparently sold out? That seems kind of odd

Most likely a URL code that is put into the email. It says click the link above and enter the code.

We should not be worried about Freebies. We have more than enough open seats at all sporting events.

Even if this brings in even 100-200 of the average 8,000 graduates, it is still a success. We need to get more butts in the seats. If that means free tickets and then making 1 or 2 extra bucks from these recent grads through them buying nachos or sodas its still some extra $ or an extra 25 bucks for them to park and tailgate, do it!

Heck, I would like to see WB and NS even hold a pre-game BBQ or something in the superpit for these recent grads that come. Tell them about what the changes that are hoping/ coming to UNT in terms of athletics. Show them designs of the IPF, etc. Allow them to get excited but also, let them see the changes of what is happening from when they started at UNT and what is coming in the next few years and hopefully it spreads/ leads to grads coming back and some extra donations or potential donations. Even allow them a 1-time pass to go into the HUB club or other perks that season ticket holders get to allow them to see what they can expect (if they don't have access to that stuff already)

Again, yes its likely slightly upsetting to people that have donated or been long term season ticket holders, but after the lack of success that we have had in recent years it is needed. We saw another thread on here that showed how horrible the Season Tickets sales were in the past, and if this leads to a 20-30 new members every year it will add up.

I like the idea, but am also in the skeptical camp on the "freebies."  People tend to take these things for granted  when they don't have any skin in the game.

It's a one year deal, and as a season ticket holder, I am not the least bit upset...more power to the athletic department for reaching out to recent grads.  Remember, am empty seat has never bought a hot dog or Mean Green t-shirt, etc.

I'm a season ticket holder and was advocating for this just a few days ago. Bravo! Even if it just brings in 1-2k more, people buy concessions. It doesn't hurt anything and I'm sure the seating will be allocated exclusively to the wing.

Anything to get people to buy in. We've all heard about the team buying into SL and Co. We've heard about AD employees buying into WB and Co. But if they can't increase fan support and get these people to buy in then it's all for nothing, "at the end of the day."
