Darrell Dickey, the lone holdover from former coach Justin Fuente's staff, will be paid $305,000 in base salary next year after making $275,000 as the Tigers' running backs coach in 2016.

Last week, athletic director Tom Bowen announced that HC Mike  Norvell's contract had been extended one year through 2021. A source said Norvell made the increase in salary pool for his assistants an emphasis in contract negotiations, and did not receive a raise himself.

Norvell is due to make $1.86 million in base compensation in 2017, and his salary increases by $60,000 annually.

Does DD get another shot as a HC in the near future?

If he wants it, the time's getting short.  But it seems like things are going so well with the OC role, I'm not sure if he'd want to leave it.

I will be honest; I was not always the biggest of DD's supporters. I know hindsight is 20/20, but it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if he had the President and Athletic Director we now have.

Memphis has a $50 million budget. They also have a big time hoops following that helps pay a lot of bills, too.

They, like the other public schools in the AAC, are really just power conference teams that got slotted on the outside of the real money, but will probably keep a place at the top levels of FBS play. The MWC has a lot of schools like this, too, which is why I truly believe that both leagues will have the ability to continue playing at the same level as the Power Conference teams in the future.
