Those years included my glory days and I have to say I was never big on the logo. Its melding of organism and design always left me confused about the creator's intent.

Huh.  I kind of liked those.  And we wore those in '93 as well, or at least there wasn't any substantial change in '93.

 

 

But Matt Simon's '94 helmet . . .

A bad helmet from my days at UNT, but the one that followed was even worse in my opinion.  And the cursive "North Texas" that came a few years later...on my gosh.

I thought I really liked the SOW, but maybe it's just because it's way better than anything we've had for the past 25 years.

It was known as D-II at the time, but yes, we were in the Southland Conference.

we can always look back but think of it at the time the uniforms were worn.  Styles change like bell bottoms pant, baggy jeans, etc, etc.  Looking back you have to ask yourself what were they thinking.  So maybe in the day the uniforms were ok.  I love the lime green and flying worm uniforms but they would not fit in to this era.  Look at the old basketball uniforms with the short pants as another example.

I always kind of liked those jerseys/helmets. That is the earliest memory I have of Mean Green Football when my Dad took me to the games.

At least we havent popped up with any recent jerseys.......................YET

Those were my favorite uniforms, and my favorite shade of green.  But, I'm biased because those were worn during the majority of my time at UNT.

We beat Texas in those helmets.

That uni was great.  Some of our most bad ass teams wore it.

The only people who didn't like it were the opposing players who were getting drilled by it.

Moron.  Sinbad wasn't in Shazaam.  That was Michael Clarke Duncan.  You're thinking of that Berenstein Bears movie.
