I know the intent was good, but I really despise seeing the flag used in violation of US Code Title 36. We should know better.

There is no "disrespecting" or "desecration" of the flag going on here so, is it being violated?

  • (j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.

Subject for interpretation imo. No one took a flag and used it as the material to construct a uniform.  This is the flag superimposed over a uniform using graphics software.  No flags were harmed in the making of this tribute to America.

Definitely up for interpretation. I take that as an actual flag being used for a uniform or garment.  Doesn't the US use designs like these in the Olympics?

I think we're getting off topic though.  I hope everyone e has a safe and happy 4th!  Happy birthday, USA! :)
