Baylor confirms it is under NCAA investigation over sexual assault scandal

Quote

The NCAA is conducting an "ongoing, pending investigation" into Baylor University in the wake of a sexual assault scandal that led to the firing of football coach Art Briles and the departure of the school president, the school's lawyers confirmed in a federal court filing.

Baylor officials acknowledged the investigation while asking a judge to protect the school's communications with the NCAA from attorneys for several women who have sued the nation's largest Baptist university.

Sleaze gonna sleaze.

after the slap on the wrist L'Ville got, will be curious what hand slap the NCAA crooks give Baylor. Seems view of NCAA is if it is not academics related, just carry on. Sickening.

Baylor is a private school and the NCAA likes to make an example out of the private schools, especially non-traditional powers that get good fairly quickly.

Baylor, Art Briles, and ESPECIALLY Ken Starr will be the NCAA's piñata in the coming years ahead. If the Death Penalty ever comes back, its gonna come back here. Baylor ain't Penn State, they ain't UNC, and they ain't Louisville...they are the perfect school to basically kill off and use as a threat the same way they did SMU way back in the 80s and early 90s. I mean OU, Texas, Texas A&M, Tech, UH, OSU, and so many others were doing the same thing SMU was doing, but pissant SMU couldn't leave well enough alone, so they got crushed into forever being a castaway.

It will be oh so fun watching Baylor endure the same methodical punishment--and I cannot think of anything better than seeing Baylor, the institution and program, get figuratively assaulted for allowing the literal assaults to go by the wayside just to win at football and basketball.

The NCAA announced they were investigating Baylor back in May 2016. And in November 2016, the NCAA announced they weren't going to pursue "Penn State" like punishments for the school. At least part of that was driven by Baylor firing everyone involved and working with the Justice Department to develop better Title IX compliance procedures. The rumor is the NCAA does plan to pursue individual in the case who are still involved with college athletics, but that is just a rumor so far.

The only news here is Baylor is asking a judge to allow Baylor to cooperate with the NCAA without passing the same material along to those involved in suing the school. While that doesn't seem possible to me, there are a lot of very good lawyers working for Baylor.
