I had the privilege of riding on a plane to Denver and a shuttle to a hotel with Robert Finklea!!! Wow lots of great memories he and I talked about NT football for hours.  He is adamant the UT Receiver was out of bounds on that catch.  Still got fired up when we talked about it.   I'll try and get some fun stories out of him.  Anyway,  carry on.

Laces out!  Oh wait.  That was Ray Finkle.

At any rate, he has good reason (and evidence) to be adamant.

Where I was at..even UT fans were laughing at the play. Everyone knew. If I remember Dale Hansen kept using that film clip for along time when talking about UT football.

And we don't even want to talk about the Arkansas vs. North Texas game in 1968 when we were robbed of that win.

No part of his body touched inside the end zone, and certainly not a foot, knee or elbow.  Zoom in on the last frame and you can see his elbows are touching the ground out of bounds.   I'll never forget it.

Jesus! So out of bounds! First time I have seen this and I can feel my heart rate rise.
