I post this mainly to illustrate how many programs come into DFW area for their key talent.  Memphis has our former HC Darrell Dickey working Texas and he can recruit.  This running back is from Cedar Hill where we have had some success.  The Memphis HC Norvell is known as a top notch recruiter as well.   My thought is why can't we sell a Cedar Hill player the chance to play close to home and where your friends and family can watch you play?  Just a thought as we try to unravel this recruiting jig saw puzzle.

Fanning the flames.

We don't have a recruiting staff/HC. That is why. In the offseason UNT hired SL and UTSA hired FW, @Brett Vito wrote an article stating that the two programs went in different directions as far as general philosophy goes and only time will tell which university made the better hire. Well...Time is starting to tell, even if just a small bit of the story.

Is it? Wilson took a 3-9 UTSA program and went 6-7. Littrell took a 1-11 team to 5-8. Where is this superiority that Frank Wilson has? In some made up recruit scoring system? The fact that they beat us on their home field? Littrell had a 4 win improvement while Wilson had a 3 win improvement. Anybody that saw our 2015 team knows that our team was in FAR worse shape after McCarney than UTSA was after Coker.

Wilsin is supposed to win these recruiting battles, that was the whole point of Vito's article. Littrell is supposed to be the better game day coach and developer of talent. The winner of this battle can only be reflected in wins and losses because everyone knew the different strengths going in so don't act surprised when a national recruiter of the year from the SEC gets the upper hand on us. SEC programs aren't always known for their ethical standards.

Recruiting systems are not made up.

SL's turnaround was a 1 game differential in comparison to FW.

Ironically, our "far" worse shape team had our only win vs utsa in 2015.

Wilson is winning these battles...Literally all of them in fact. There is no supposed to it. So, I wouldn't call it a "upper hand." More like he has our staff by the balls puppeting them away from any recruit that he wants.

Littrell is not or at least was not the better game day coach (shotgun formation on the 1-inch line with an opportunity to make it a game going into the half is a disastrous decision regardless of "scheme"). Then, of course, UTSA comfortably wins.

And you're quick to use some pretty hefty allegations on FW.

And of course we're still getting beat in recruiting, easily. And of course it will show up on game day like it always has and always will. It's not a made up system. It's a real system that foreshadows competitive football teams. Deal with it.

It took a trick play to beat them in 2015. Vito's article said "is it the X's and O's or Jimmys and Joes?" The damn article says that Wilson is the better recruiter. Everybody knows that. They've met once on the field and it was on their turf. Why don't we revisit this after they come to our place?
