Seems like a great way to make money. No way we take a step back from last year and, unless I missed something southern miss and WKU will both have new starters at QB. The only reason why we have such a low win projection and theirs is relatively high is public perception.

Remember these lines are designed to get an equal number of betters on both sides of the proposition. It's not what they believe will actually happen, that's not their purpose. 

A lot of people are going to think "North Texas has had one winning season in over a decade" and just go with that. Anything else requires more research than most care to do.

Historically, betting that NT wins 4 games is gong to be accurate.  We have never shown that we are more than a 4-5 win team, with a few exceptions. 

I hope our new coach and AD can change that perception.

Over the years, I've often wondered if the real money to be made in sportsbook was by researching and better on mid-majors in football and basketball that might have skewed lines because the national handcappers don't know or don't care.

Thats why alot of handicappers make a ton of money during the early part of Bowl Season. Vegas doesn't have a complete grip on the line for the early "odd" matchups like they do the NFL. I've done most of my damage to the bookmakers during this time frame. It's not a pass to make a crapload of money, they're pretty damn close on lines 95% of the time, but you will catch an odd line or two every year...

If any of you follow UnderDog Dynasty on twitter (I VERY HIGHLY recommend you do) they did an analysis today of the C-USA Vegas lines. All 4 staff writers believe UNT will easily get more than 4 wins.
