Yet they were again one of the worst P5 conferences. 🤔

That's kind of like saying "one of the poorest billionaires in Texas".  A good comparison of the P5s in 2016 can be found -

 http://thesportsquotient.com/ncaa-fb/2016/1/14/which-college-football-conference-is-best

Based on their metrics the P5s rank:

Conference Rankings

1. SEC

2. Big 10

3. Big 12

4. Pac 12

5. ACC

That numbers wasn't buoyed by a strong Oklahoma and Oklahoma state. Kansas, Iowa State, Texas, Kansas State were all terrible to okay. PAC 12 was better imo and the ACC gave us the champion.

Every P5 conference has strong programs & some not so strong programs.  Year-in-year-out the SEC has more good teams & the Big 10 is a little lower.  The bottom three tend to have fewer really good years. Last year was fairly typical:

Overall Record, Winning Percentage along with Best and Worst Teams

Record Winning Percentage Best Team Worst Team
SEC 111-69 .617 Alabama 14-1 South Carolina 3-9
Big 10 105-75 .583 Ohio State 12-1 Purdue 2-10
Big 12 77-56 .579 Oklahoma 11-2 Kansas 0-12
Pac 12 90-67 .573 Stanford 12-2 Oregon State 2-10
ACC 98-82 .544 Clemson 14-1 Boston College 3-9

What year are those stats from?  Kansas was 2-10 including a win over Texas which we must never forget.

The article was from January 2016 which should make the stats for 2015 - I have problems with temporal logic.

I would love to see the G5 schools start working together to be more competitive based on the dollars that are going to come in.

Work together on scheduling. Make P5's pay out their asses for games

Work together on out of conference scheduling

Try  and get into survival mode for conference realignment -  need to quit going halfway across the continent to play conference  games

B12 schools split a record $348 million, $34.8 million per school, up $4.4 million per school from last year.  11th year in a row of increases.  Not bad.

I saw that when you add in Tier 3 rights, UT made $49.8 Million, OU, made $40.8 million, KU made $39.8 million, and WVU made $37.8 million.

And that's why the Big 12 stays at 10 members.

Yes. I'm sure the B12 was serious about adding Memphis, Houston, or Cincinnati!!!  Ha! B12 doesn't need any more teams.

The Big 12's big three, (UT, OU, and KU) know that the next realignment will have them at the Big Boys' Table, so they aren't too upset with waiting out the GOR running out in 2025. I suspect WVU feels the same, too. The others have to depend on in-state help or know that they had better enjoy the cash while they are getting it (i.e. Baylor, TCU, and ISU).
