The Real Lonnie Finch's little brother.  It was Reggie who was in the dorm parking lot and got Jerry Parks' gun after he shot Zarak Peters at OU in 1989, the beginning of the end of Barry Switzer.  It was the highlight of his OU career.

Both Finch brothers were wild and wildly talented back in the day.  I remember when Reggie transferred to UNT.  Thought he'd light it up here.  Glad to see he's doing well.  Wonder how Real Lonnie is doing these days.

We all thought he would be great here, but I think he had a big ego from being an OU player and he actually wasn't all that fast, like we thought he would be. He got moved to LB, IIRC to use his size better, but he wasn't fast enough to beat out the RBs we had here.

He suffered some sort of injury once he got here, and he was moved to the other side of the ball.

At OU, he was just another Blue Chip in the crowd.  Like his former coach said, he wasn't ready for the level of competition that was at OU at the time.  And, like he said himself, he need someone telling him he was good.

When he signed with OU, they already had Mike Gaddis redshirting.  In his own signing class, there was also a fellow from California by the name of Glyn Milburn who transferred to Standford after the shooting, rape, and cocaine dealing brought down Switzer.

In addition to Milburn, that 1988 signing class for OU also had the top RB in Oklahoma, Rod Fisher, and another great DFW area RB, Ike Lewis, from Wilmer-Hutchins.  They also signed a RB from Waco named Ted Long who they later moved to WR once Switzer left and the switched to a more pass-based offense.

OU's 1988 class was RB heavy.  Finch was one of a number of really talented back that hit their campus that fall.  Gaddis eventually played a bit got the Minnesota Vikings, Glyn Milburn for the Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, and Chicago Bears.

The next year, OU signed about kid out of Lawton, Dewell Brewer, who played a year for the Indianapolis Colts once his OU career was through.

So they had future NFLer Gaddis before he got there, future NFLer Milburn signing with him, and future NFLer Brewer signing the year after.  It was a crowded, talented backfield for OU then.

Anyone remember going up to Norman in 1991 and watching Gaddis run all over us?  I think the only score we had that day was a two point, blocked PAT run back by Keith Wilkerson (?).
