NDT Adrian has a pretty severe ankle injury that will need to heal and I don't think that basketball will help that ankle set correctly. He has NFL potential and probably will focus on getting that ankle ready for 2004. Also, if you were at the Indiana game, you may have noticed rebounding isn't the problem so the need for Adrian isn't as strong. Now if we had a football player that could play point guard.....

I hope Adrian takes some time to heal properly for spring practice, you are right, we aren't hurting inside anymore (isn't that a 180 from last year?) with Johnson.

Why are we blaming Rogers and Mitchell for the Indiana game? Several people have voiced displeasure especially with Jerome and I don't understand (Mitchell has shown athleticism but no shooting thus far). Two things caused the loss to Indiana: Bracey Wright going insane, and no outside shot (except for Mike Jones). Yes Jerome was cold from outside, but we all know he has been our best outside shooter. And how long will we use the injury excuse for Leonard's scoring? He should have been the one taking over from outside (not just taking 8 shots, 3 from deep in 29 minutes) and let Jerome run the offense and push the ball. We know Leonard has the talent to do it, we have seen it on display many times and in glimpses Monday. Speaking of offense, didn't it seem like we ran the same play to the same side even after IU had it figured out?

I was thinking the same thing.

I am one who voices displeasure in the point guard play. I do not blame JR and Mitchell for the Indiana loss. But, I have watched our basketball team very closely the past few years and don't like seeing JR handle the ball. He's just way too careless. Call me an old fuddy duddy, but give me a point guard that can run the offense efficiently. The flash is unnecessary and wasted energy.

I said the same thing about running the same play every time down the court. I believe it has a lot to do with JR not having the ability to go to his left. If you notice he has a problem dribbling to his left. If he is forced that way he does everything in his power to get moving right.
