Pearson and Shanbour both looked better than Fine. I'm glad Littrell is going with the best guy. If that's Cade or Quinn then so be it. Ideally would like to RS Pearson but you gotta do what you gotta do to win

Fine didn't have a great spring game, not a big deal.  What is a big deal is Fine has a lot of game time experience, while the rest of the cast has none or next to none.

Everyone but parents and personal friends of a QB, believe that the best player should play.   At this point, I think that will be Fine; but with Littrell that is certainly not guaranteed.

You also have to remember that Fine only played because of Morris' bad first game. Morris actually threw the ball better(per game avg and TD/INT ratio) in less games than Fine and he had no "game experience" so I think that's hard to say if he's truly better. Fine kept us in some games, but there was no noticeable improvement after spring practice. Especially for a player with a year in the system. That's the most worrisome part to me

Yeah throwing the rock vs our defensive 2 and 3s dictates ability to play in D1 games.  Come on man. I know Fine didn't light it up, but they pressured the hell out of him, unlike other QB's

I mean I'm pulling for the kid as much as anybody but the truth of the matter is he doesn't know when to throw it away, aims  the ball too often, and doesn't exactly have a rocket arm. Plus being 5'10" at best ain't exactly helping him. If he's the starter so be it, but regardless of the defense he was against, he was making the exact same mistakes as he was during the regular season. If he's making those mistakes against our 1's then he'll continue to make those mistakes in live games

I wonder if Mr. Vito gives Coach L. the same dismissive look when Coach L. gave him his assessment of  Mr.Shanbour, that he gave me when I gave him my assessment of Mr. Shanbour a couple of years ago.

I'm going to guess......not.

Here is an article from an Oklahoma paper about him.

It's early in the morning and I don't think I'm reading that article correctly.  Did he..go to high school...after high school?

It's a thing.  Take a year of prep school and reclassify to the following year without losing a year of NCAA eligibility.

Pearson could only play vs who they put in front of him, but he looked a lot more confident in the pocket, and was able to locate the passes.
Fine meanwhile still short-armed passes, and couldn't get over 60% with the #1 WR group.

Totally agreed.

Everyone here is pulling for Fine, we want Fine to be the guy who passes this program off to someone like Pearson. But Fine has to progress, not regress.
