How about Denton University? It would eliminate our directional problem, and it seems to work pretty well for the tiny towns of Clemson and Auburn. People on the national scene would be forced to actually do a little research on our school after saying "who the F is that" when seeing our new name float by on the sports ticker. Besides, maybe some of our locals would finally develop a a bit of local school pride and attend a few of our games.

Well, OK.  You'd get the international "Rocky Horror Picture Show" communiity to support that.  But I'd go with University of Denton - UD, not DU.  Don't want people calling us DUmmies!

I like the idea of Denton University. DU or University of Denton, UD. Directional problem gone and who knows, maybe we'll get more support from the Denton community.
