could this be a 2 player deal here? maybe his friend Jaxon Player will join!

These are always risky maneuvers.  We tried this last year with the Belton QB, by offering his TE friend.   Which reminds me...
...be ready for Littrell & Co to let him know we're not going to be using Offensive Guards in this offense and asks him to play deep snapper.

I hope so, but this doesn't come close to reminding me of the Belton 2-fer.  Lutz was a stretch, at best.  Carroll and Player are both legitimate D1 players.

Love this kids strength. If he gets his paws on someone, that person is going backwards. He is only going to get stronger and he is going to improve greatly in my opinion.

The only thing that worries me is his comment "This is the right time," Carroll said. "North Texas is my only offer. I wanted to grab it before I missed it."

I know we have a lot going for us as far as education and the major he wants to pursue but will he wonder if he gets a better offer or lateral one?

What if he had said 'thus far' at the end of his first sentence?  With this kid's size and strength I have no doubt that he would get other offers.  I took it to mean that if he waited too long that North Texas might not want to take many more linemen in this class.  He indicated that everything just felt right so why wait?

Sometimes I think that we put too much validity into the number of offers being a test of the recruit's true ability.  That's especially true for late bloomers or those that don't have the publicity to make them star quality and an early evaluation by the scouts.  Kishaun McClain and Jeffrey Wilson, for example, were never rated by any of the evaluators and I'd say that they turned out very well.  I'm not knocking offers and/or ratings but they aren't always the only answer.  Of course, you can't have an entire team of under the radar players but at this stage I'm glad that we sometimes dig deeper.
