Burton is where his credit is due... women's basketball.
He doesn't fundraise well. He's also not a promoter because he lacks energy, charisma, and hunger. Our attendance in basketball is a fireable offense within itself. No expansion progress in years. We'll never have baseball with this type of leader in place. And we'll celebrate the 100 year anniversary of The Pit in 40ish years as well. Just mid... all around. But, sure, yeah, he hired Burton..
How many coaches has Mosley had to hire? Burton, Hodge, and Eric Morris? So we won't give him credit for Hodge because he was already here even though I'd argue he still had the final say and chose to promote Hodge. We won't give him credit for Burton because it's not popular? Seems like some are cherry picking because they don't like the guy.
I think Mosley deserves a bit more credit. Not a single one of those 3 hires has been bad. Football, especially in this era, is as tough to build up as ever. I know Morris hasn't had immediate success but I'd argue we haven't taken a step back either so there's still hope.
And like CMJ said, we aren't a men's basketball coach graveyard. I think we're a very desirable midmajor job considering the proven recent upward mobility. I'm choosing to believe Mosley is capable of making the right hire until proven otherwise.
