Good story, especially because it affects SMUt's depth, but I don't think it changes anything other than we know who to prepare for (or as they would say on the Hilltop, "we know for whom to prepare").

I watched that video dozens of times, and I am still not convinced that Wheeler had anything to do with the injury.  It looks like Davis' knee went out when he planted his foot to change directions just before contact.

Now, if we can just get some agent to talk the WR Sutton into turning pro.

Yep. He was injured before the hit.

NFL draft???

Are my talent evaluation skills really that bad?

Maybe.  But you can count on these agents being really good salesman.  They make more money when they get to represent another player.

I wonder how many agents are whispering in your ear as you are about to expire your college eligibility?

Of all years, this is probably a good one to declare as a WR.

This isn't really a big deal.  Davis only played in one game for them last year.  SMU Jesus' QB was always going to be Ben Hicks in 2017.

SMU would have been much better last year if Davis were their QB.

How?  They still have the same ding dong head coach who thinks Texas is the only state with high school football players.

Because Davis' improvisational skills make him more dangerous than Hicks and can offset the ding dong coach.

Not this again.

Davis' "improvisational skills" helped SMU to a 1-11 record in 2014 ad 2-10 in 2015.  Without him, the non-"improvisational skills" QB led them to a 5-7 season.

I think that many times - too many times - people confuse "improvisation" with the inability (lack of discipline?) of a quarterback to stay in the pocket and make all of his reads under pressure.

Give me a quarterback who will learn an offense and have the fortitude to stay in the pocket going through all the reads over one who pulls the ball down over and over again at the first sign off pressure.  That wasn't Davis.

Unfortunately, SMU Jesus is better off with Hicks.  The news is not Davis gone.  News would have been Hicks gone.

Were you in attendance during the two games where Davis killed NT... by himself (chucking up ducks to Sutton when he did throw)?

Ignoring your comment about their 2014 season, you're not paying attention if you don't know why.
2015 was their first year under Morris.  They had a VERY long way to go...

...you know, UNT's exact same journey in 2015 & 16.

2016 could have been better for them if Davis were healthy.   The pony faithful seem to agree.  Most of them were expecting him to take the starting job back next year.
