By virtue of the OT win after being 10 points down...and tying it up on a big time three by Candice Adams at the end of regulation...the Mean Green Women have MADE the tournament and have now tied their win total from last season.

This team has earned some support folks.  They are fun to watch.  They never ever give up and Jalie and Company are doing a great job with this team.  They are peaki8ng at just the right time for the tournament.  I am guessing that no team will really want to play UNT early in the CUSA Tournament in Birmingham this year.

So, and piggy backing on what I mentioned in an earlier post, why not come to one or both of this team's last two games in the Super Pit before the tourney.  Some extra support would really be great and I know the ladies would really appreciate the extra home cooking....Final schedule is:

THURSDAY-March 2nd-7PM

SATURDAY-=March 4th-3PM.

Remember folks, for those who are boycotting the men's games, this is NOT the men's team.  Think about stopping by and giving these hard working students-athletes some extra support on their way to Birmingham!

UTSA largest lead was actually 13. Impressive comeback.

The impressive thing from the UTSA game is that Coach Mitchell only got the team back to the court (after 1/2 time)with 3 minutes left in the half time period.
Boy, a completely different team came out the 2nd half, & made the "beaks" (thats what the stadium signs proclaimed) completely unable to do their game plan, or play with rythum.
GMG exciting team to watch.

Mitchell has her team playing very well in conference.  I thought she had a difficult start to the season but things are beginning to jell.  They are still struggling to find anyone who can be effective at the 5, but seniors Ellison and Adams are both having very good years.  Now the improving health of Criner and Warren is making the team much better.   Bradley has been the best player on the team.

They don't have injuries problems close to what the men suffered, but they did lose one of their top players Mcdaniel in one of the first games of the year.

My biggest concern with this team at this point, is I haven't seen much of an impact by any of her last year class.   Mitchell gives her starters most of the minutes, so you don't see a lot of the bench; but I expected more from the players she brought in this year.

Seems to me that it took forever to get the new players to get used to (or buy into) the system.  That is a danger when you get a lot of transfers from different programs.

Agree.   However, they're gelling at just the right time!
