It says Cornerback on his twitter but WR on everything else. Can anyone confirm what we offered him as?

He sure looks like a good defensive player in his video.  He has great instincts and can deliver a pop.

On twitter they tagged the WR coaches.

Awesome pick up.

Love the offer list and and awesome we are picking up kids like this early in the cycle

Also, we are now only 3 points behind UTSA for the lead in C-USA with them having 4 3* and us with 2.

Let him choose his position (but then have him stick with it). He should be productive either way.

Great get. Also, way to early, of course with 9 months to go and all but it does feel nice to have 247 have UNT 2nd in CUSA and 55th nationally (with UTSA 54th), definitely still solidly ahead of last seasons recruiting pace.

Gage is the 2nd highest recruit in C-USA and he just comes in .0004 points behind a Safety from TX that is going to UAB.

Awesome addition to the class.

He deleted his tweet about committing to us. Nothing about committing to us on his twitter profile anymore

Just saw that. Why commit and decomit same day if that's the case..

Just speculating, but it's quite possible he did this just to have a commitment on twitter and didn't fully consult his coaches/parents/mentors.

It has happened in the era of twitter commitment announcements. There have been these instances where mentors find out via twitter, then get a chance to talk it over with their student-athlete and you see the commitment rescinded.

Unless this kid was planning on completely shutting off his recruitment for the next 10 months, this doesn't really change anything as far as I'm concerned. It means we're leading in his mind either way, but that he has too much development in his recruiting process left to make a legitimate commitment. Still a good sign.

Just going through his tweets, he sent out a top 5 yesterday and said he'd be committing tomorrow (today) at noon. Just based on that it seems like he had it planned out, which adds to the weirdness.

Yeah, he did. Doesn't necessarily mean his mentors signed off on it.

Who are his mentors? His family? Friends? etc.? Most people will shoo a kid to the "biggest" or most "high profile" offer a kid can get. To me, that isn't mentoring. That is living through someone. If he feels comfortable with this staff and thinks he can be a bigger contribution here than elsewhere and if U of NT fits his academic goals, then he made the best decision for himself regardless of what his "mentors" may think. I know you know this. I am just pointing it out.
