Just a general question - why limit it to a current student? If we find a really good person and the graduate will they have to resign?

Maybe they are making it a work-study or student assistant position? Maybe it is a way around the hiring freeze. I have no idea, just throwing guesses around.

Could be used as a way to give students in need of service hours a chance to build their portfolio. Also, would think if the student does a good job they would be brought on after graduation. Also, with the limited # of hours could be another reason..

This is another thing that UNT should look into.. Getting more personal with MGC members and potential MGC, and Southern Miss is doing it.. Offering students service hours and real world experience...

Probably because the amount of money offered for this gig wouldn't come close to what a decent graphic designer would make post graduation.

Which isn't a great sign. On the other hand, they may just need a support for their current full-timer(s).

this position won't pay much so this is the right decision and way to go.  Find a passionate fan/student and let them be involved.  No good graphic designer worth their salt in the business world is going to do this for what they are willing to pay.

Great move to get someone on-board though.  There will be plenty of people that jump at this but in the case that their isn't they can then open the belt a little bit and revamp the requirements.

The person hired for this spot wont be doing much, it will be mostly doing graphics for recruiting offers and a few other designs.. We didn't produce much, this is spot is mostly to help the recruiting coordinator, but also to bring a younger person on that may be more in touch with recuits along with a way to build kids portfolios for after college. If they are good, then we can retain them

I know of atleast 20 to 30 students that would love to do anything within the AD office... Hoping this leads to more openings for us students.. Would be a great way to get people involved and hopefully for some to stay as well.
