OK - he's 6-4, 262 but he's very long armed and lean... great motor.  He needs to redshirt and spend a year in the off season program.  That said, he could be a rally big dude with some wheels before all is said and done.  Brother plays for TCU so there are bloodlines.  I see what they saw in him after looking closer at his film.  He was also the MVP of his district in basketball.  Will be fun to watch him develop.

I like basketball players in football. Lots of athleticism in a large body. Nice fit for DE and move him to offense and play TE close to the end zone. Nice get. Is he too light for a speed rusher??

Oh, he is OL.  My bad thinking he was a DE. Still nice get.

Oh, he is OL.  My bad thinking he was a DE. Still nice get.

I find it amusing that you feel you can badger posters about their concerns over poor recruiting and you can't even be bothered to read that this kid is recruited for OL.

my bad...I caught myself.  My apologies to the young man.  BUT, he is a good size for a speed rushing DE, and could fit the role of a goal line TE.  You got to admit that....

Add 20-25 lbs and he is a perfect size for a left tackle that is athletic enough to come off a DE and pick up a blitzing player.

Kid played at I believe 230 and is already up to 260 and doesn't look like it at all.. This kid if he develops could be huge for us at OT... This kid could easily get up 280, 290 and it would barely show.. Can't wait to see him in the gym.. just going to say pair him up with Ham-bone

      What is this program missing?

      Simple. UNT has never won the conference and doesn't have a signature win that captured the nation attention. No 2-10 Arkansas doesn't count. UNT also needs a Heisman Candidate to be the face of the team. It was ALMOST there with Mason Fine but it was squandered, opportunity after opportunity keep being missed. Until UNT has a marketable face of the team, actually take down P4 opponents and win the conference, the same story will keep repeating itself. UCF had Blake Bortles take them to the Fiesta Bowl and a big run followed by Milton McKenzie beating Auburn. Boise had Kellen Moore, Jared Zanbranski and others followed with wins over Oregon, Georgia, Oklahoma, etc. Cincinatti had a 14-0 run to the Sugar Bowl followed by back to back undefeated runs with Desmond Ridder. Houston had a great 2011 run with Case Keenum where we beat UCLA and Penn State in a January Bowl Game. In 2009 we beat #5 Oklahoma State and Texas Tech back to back. In 2015 with Greg Ward Jr, we went 13-1, beat Louisville, Vanderbilt, ranked Navy, ranked Memphis, ranked Temple in the AAC Championship and Florida State in the Peach Bowl 2016, we had Ward back and Ed Oliver and beat Top 5 Oklahoma and Top 5 Louisville on National TV.

      I’m saying after watching primarily bad North Texas football for going on 27 years, that I’m pretty confident we’re not building a championship calibre program here. I know he’s not going to be let go but I think we’re probably wasting our time and continuing to jade our fans. Would love to be wrong on this. And in the time of NIL/Transfer Portal mercenaries, I think you can make a change pretty much when you want and rebuild a roster. Again, we’re not gonna do it, but we could.
