That was beautiful. I'll put it on my to-do list to search for stacks of 20s and 100s around the East Texas area. (Man I miss the old 727s) 1
greenjoe Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 Wait...He gets a "contract completion bonus" ? 1
DeepGreen Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 (edited) What??? A contract completion bonus? To keep him from leaving on his own??? Benford's contract must have been a thing of beauty. Edited March 4, 2017 by DeepGreen
greenjoe Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 OK. As I understand it, the contract expires April 30, 2017. Find out which is cheaper; letting the contract run it's course with a "completion bonus" at the end, or firing him after the Marshall game and paying out the balance of the contract, that only has 56 days left to run. I have no idea what the bonus is but from what I've seen, I bet it's between $10,000-$20,000. Enough to buy a bunch of suits. GO MEN GREEN 1 1
untjim1995 Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 Today is the final payout for firing RV...the long nightmare is officially over. Bumford can go back to being a recruiting guru at some Power school 3 3
greenminer Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 If it costs you 250K to end the contract early, and 250K is awarded for completing the contract, why not just bake the 250K into the initial salary and be rid of the extra fine print?

UNT90 Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 I bet at least 2 weeks go by before any "decision" is made on Benford. Two full agonizing weeks. Wren Baker will fail here because he doesn't understand the basic problems. 6 16

But I agree that the silence on this topic from the AD right now is deafening and gets louder the longer it lasts. It has been way uncomfortably loud all season. It creates the impression that WB is afraid of voicing bad news, and if things like the TB experience repeat, then the impression becomes reality. Edited March 5, 2017 by outoftown 3 2

Greendylan Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 I don't know where Wren Baker learned to evaluate, but Missouri just completed their own evaluation of Kim Anderson after ONLY THREE SEASONS! And they still have to play in the SEC tournament--those heartless, student-athlete hating miscreants! Prepare for chaos, Show Me State! 3
