I NEED GOOD NEWS NOW! This off-season has been disappointing in many ways. The remedy midie would be 4 stud recruits

This, so much THIS. Feels like nothing but bad news this offseason. I need some strong finish in recruiting. Or at least the firing of Benford to have some hope for Bball still making the conference tournament

He was hurt this last season. Are there any durability issues?

Nope freak football play took him out with a shoulder injury from what I was told.  Got to speak with his wonderful family at a game, and they as well as Connor are ready for him to hit the field.  Apparently he was pretty jacked up about moving to RB once he was over initial disappointment of move from QB to RB.  I don't know if anyone remembers the LONG runs he would have during spring ball.  I believe he'll be just fine.  Hope he proves me right.  Also in another note, Dillman tweeted this.

he failed himself and the team in the classroom, Staff had no choice to make him miss the Bowl Game. Should have been incentive to Ivery to work on academics but apparently has decided to go another route. Disappointing.

Again...did new coach and AD keep the same academic staff on board that McCarney had in place?  I ask, but no one will ever answer.

Yes.  Cinnamon Sheffield is still here.

so is it grades or some other type of rule violation?

We won't ever know officially.  Not sure there is much good in speculation.

No matter what, all we can do now is wish the young man well and hope he gets his education somewhere.

1. I remember him "coming alive" on the sidelines toward the end of the year and especially during the HOD bowl. He was waving a towel and working the crowd like a (real) cheerleader. I remember thinking "Damn! is this kid all excited about his position move? If so, then good for him!........and us.

2. Yes, I remember his running/scrambling exploits during spring two years ago. I've already told my "wow" story once. This guy can run, and he is not just a down hill runner like Wilson. He's fast, and he can make people miss.

I know sometimes life gets in the way and it can make school a lot harder than it has to be but these kids have to learn that their ultimate goal is the piece of paper you receive when you walk across that stage and not making it to the NFL. Very few make it there so dreams dont always become a reality.

Take a man like Zach Orr, that I admire and respect. He worked his ass off in College and didnt get drafted. Then he finally worked his way onto an NFL team and became a big man on campus but his career came to an unfortunate end due to his injury. Luckily, Zach is set because he graduated from UNT and make a good living outside of football if he wants to. Zach is the ultimate role model in my opinion for achieving success on and off the field.

We know he was ineligible for the bowl.  We don't know why he is no longer on the team.

Merged two threads.

If the GPA dropped below a certain level, it is very possible be that the school sent him packing, especially since he had some academic issues prior.

Either way tough loss for the team, just hope he can right his ship

It's possible.  It's also not know.

Hope he gets his life in order either way.

Grades.  Grades matter.  Had academic challenges staying eligible for awhile.  If your grades say you are ineligible you are ineligible.  Whether a player wants to continue to stay in school (if grades were no so bad as to be completely suspended) and work to bring the grades up so he can regain eligibility, that is up to the player.  So it goes with this young man.  He decided to leave.  I wish him well.  I will certainly miss seeing him in Mean Green green on Saturdays during the fall.
