Any updates?

I tried hydro dipping for the first time today.

It turned out better than I thought it would.

I tried it on an extra dust cover I don't need.

The first try I used Roadrunner orange and blue. It didn't work at all. I only had high heat paint in those colors and it all clumped together when I dipped it.

I found a couple cans of old cheap spray paint and they worked great. Green and black.

Looks pretty cool to me.  Is that acrylic enamel?

No, it was just cheap all purpose spray enamel.  Some old crap I had in a storage bin.

Cool.  I've been painting helmets, fire and football helmets using automotive acrylic enamel and  mixing a reducer and a hardener with it as well..  I'm surprised how quickly it dries and how extremely tough and durable it is.  IMG_8334.PNG.aeb2641f84804dbda2c6a11ab5eea5f6.PNG
