NCAA Considers Mandatory 14 Week Season

12 games, two mandatory bye weeks.  Should be a formal proposal soon.

They better mandate that the bye weeks can't be the first and last weeks of the season.

Maybe just one of them? A team might want a bye at the end to prep/rest/recover for a conference championship game.

Don't Army and Navy play a week after everybody else?  Will they get an exemption?

To have a 14 week season, it's either going to need to start the last weekend in August, or end the first weekend in December.  If it ends the first weekend in December, the conference championship games would need to be pushed back to the 2nd weekend in December, and I don't see that making the bowls happy, having to wait that long to make their invitaaaations.

Actually, they play a week after conference championship weekend.  So I assume one of their byes is already covered.

How does this impact Hawaii and the schools that play at Hawaii which allows them a 13th game (assuming that is still a thing).

They'd likely start the last weekend of August as getting the bowls to move around their dates isn't something I see happening despite the 2020 start.
