Reality of the situation:

There are mostly P5 vs P5 bowls and G5 vs G5 bowls.

There are so many bowls now that conference tie-ins are mostly moot as the bowls scramble to fill all their spots.

Bowls with P5 vs G5 are becoming fewer and farther in between.

I'm shocked!  Shocked I tells ya!

For the 2016 bowl season, I see the following:

BYU vs. Wyoming -- Poinsettia Bowl (considering BYU a P5 is in the discretion of the viewer)

Wake Forest vs Temple -- Military Bowl

Baylor vs Boise St -- Cactus Bowl

USF vs. South Carolina -- Birmingham Bowl

W. Michigan vs Wisconsin -- Cotton Bowl

So of forty bowl games, 4.5 of them pitted G5 vs P5.  That's 11.25% and shrinking each year.
