Since the university suspended him and not the athletic department,  I would think he didn't qualify academically.

Depends on what he did. Could be a Baylor situation and they aren't taking chances. Who knows. He'd lose a year of eligibility going straight to FBS if he leaves TT. It would be best for him if he leaves Tech to go juco so he gets a year of gametime under his belt before that 3 for 3 clock starts.

I would say most likey caught for cheating, but could be grades. If it had been grades he would have been suspended before(I believe). 

But could be a nice get if we did land him.

My tech friend who is usually right about these things says their board thinks it could be criminal. The kind of criminal that we wouldn't want.  This isn't verified though.
