Agree.

Say we were to pull off a 9 to 10 win season and break into the top 25 some year, I can see all 6 Texas bowls, especially  the HOD and the AFBowl fighting over us.

Itll be crazy around here.

I'll tell you who would dream for North Texas to have a season like Western Michigan, Houston, or Northern Illinois has had in recent seasons...the Cotton Bowl in the year that the G5 has to play in its game. Could you imagine what it would be like around here if we were undefeated and playing Wisconsin on New Years Day in Arlington?

Think NT can get 30K for the Army game next fall?

What's the record going in? And yes I do.

The 39,117 was the highest for a game not played on New Year's Day or January 2 (on Monday).

That said, I find it hard to believe this was only a few hundred more than January 1, 2014. Army had a lot more fans than UNLV. Was NT that much less than the game three years ago? It sure didn't seem like it.

Agree.

Maybe if we're there again next year, the stadium will open up more of the upper deck. The HOD Bowl committee was probably more conservative this year after drawing a mere 20,000 last year.

I'd guess not in an attempt to fill the lower bowl. Would be more cost effective and show better on camera as well

Because FW & TCU better support the AF Bowl, the Army/North Texas game would (I assure you) have been a sellout at Amon Carter Stadium.  Also because a DFW & Texas school would have been in that game, too.

I love the way Cowtown "finally" adopted TCU as "the Home Team" years ago with bumper stickers expressing same. When that finally happened TCU began to ascend to where they are now.

GMG!

I hope there us some tracking system so that NT officials could contact HoD ticket buyers and make them season ticket buyers.

GO MEAN GEEEN

A big reason why the Athletic Department was asking folks to purchase tickets through the UNT Ticket Office. They want to track buyers, mine contact info, etc., etc.

Looked good on TV - casual watchers definitely don't expect to see a sea of any color when watching a lower tier bowl game.

We noticed that when watching in Phoenix...so much green!

I think you hit it home. The occasional decent season with a low-end bowl has brought out quite a few fans already...but with a killer season like that and a ranking, all of the remaining alumni (well...at least a whole bunch of them) would come out of the woodwork. Have a nationally recognized amazing season, ranking, and highly ranked P5 opponent, and that baby would sell out. Like...completely.
