Start the chant as the team comes down the tunnel.  Let them enter the field hearing that chant!

This needs to be done at every home game. Let the chant begin as the team is starting to gather at the entrance to the tunnel, and then build up to it's loudest as the team goes by touching the Eagle and entering the field.

What a (potentially) great way to get the crowd into the stadium earlier and be a part of pre-game.  Instead of their usual tradition of showing up stylishly late in the second quarter.

I agree up to the point when they start running onto the field.  Gotta keep the fight song there and a wall of cheering and clapping.

Agree. The point where the band strikes up the fight song is where the chant ends and the clapping and singing of the fight song begins.

Somebody in charge of the Band/cheer squad.......make it happen!

And I told Paul Batchelder, the GB director and the Spirit committee back in....2007 I think it was?....that it wouldn't work.  But as usual...in one ear and out the other.

Ah I told him to lead the chants. My bad. I must have confused him. He says he's sorry. He mixed up his notes and originally had mine in the bad idea column, and yours in the great idea column.

He listens and cares about every suggestion and hopes you continue to make suggestions despite this small mishap, maybe even go fishing to make up for it.

The last few years the team running onto the field has been sudden and abrupt with little buildup. I loved it in the 90's when the GB would do the alma mater and Star Spangled Banner and then line up and play the theme to 2001: A Space Odyssey. It built up the emotion and by the end of the song the team ran onto the field to the cheers and rowdiness we all hope for as the GB broke into the Fight Song.

while i agree it would be awesome to have an entrance, I believe South Carolina already has this cemented as "theirs".

Looks like South Carolina started doing it in 1983. I remember the GB doing it in 1994 when I first started attending UNT. Not sure when we started doing it though. Anyone else know?

The team should enter like Michael Jackson did in the 92 Super Bowl. All 100 of them. I won't feel fully pumped until this happens. Please pass it along.

I think you mean the '93 Super Bowl.
