What is Zaxby's ?

Used to eat at the Zaxby's near our house in Houston and it was pretty good.  I grew up on KFC and Grandy's, but they are both pretty sketch now.  I am a fan of Bush's.

I like Chicken E, except the service at the Frisco one on Main/Teel is horrible.  I've literally driven away from the drive-thru twice in the middle of ordering with the past year because the kids inside couldn't get the order correct - at their own restaurant!

We now drive all the way over to Preston to Cane's for chicken when we could literally walk to Chicken E from our front door and be there in five minutes.

Chik-Fil-A is good, but the one closest to us is always crowded, with a long drive-thru line.  Amazing the way people flock to that place.  Love it to death...but, I mean, sh*t...I've got places to be.

That describes pretty much every CFA in the U.S.  There's one along SW Freeway in Stafford (Houston area) which doesn't even have a dining room, just two drive-thrus and a walk-up window.

Amazing.

The one closest to us has a dining room and playground.  It's always full inside and out.

So it seems like a lot of people know what Zaxby's is. Me too. Ate at the one in The Colony a long time ago. Eaten at one in Memphis a couple of times.

I've discovered that almost all fast food chicken makes me ill. I still eat at Chic-Fil-A, because I hate myself.

Pollo Campero, Pollo El Regio, El Pollo Loco, the roasted chickens at El Rancho Supermarktet, not necessarily in that order.

Wow, more chicken talk. It's not fried, but I'm eating Pollo Regio as we speak. Great chicken and the beans/rice are very tasty too. My arteries tell me that there's a little too much lardy/bacon stuff in the beans, which is probably why they taste so good.

I haven't purposefully gone to Chicken Express since Dublin Dr Pepper disappeared. 

Want a refill? Put a quarter in the ceramic chicken next to the soda fountain.

Sad to hear of Grandys fall from grace.  When I was a kid I regularly ate at the Lewisville location and it was great.

I heard Grandy's was making a comeback.  Lived at the one on University in high school.

I hope they comeback as well.  Always good.  Chicken Fried Steak platter...mmmmmm  They just open a new Grandy's on Preston in Frisco...may have to give it a try...
