One of the major disappointments of the Mac regime was that he insisted he would have more high school recruits to build the program instead of relying on JuCo players. He never achieved that goal, or even came close, but maybe our reliance is decreasing. There are some obvious needs I wouldn't mind finding guys who are ready to go from JuCo. But the qualifying issues hurt us some this year.

Sewell Should be here, and i believe he is still committed to us since we haven't heard anything about him leaving.. Also Hoston, I think will be a walk on possibly but i have no idea. since he only has 1 season left to play

Man this stealth recruiting is mind boggling as frustrating to watch from a fan perspective. I can understand wanting the right guys for your system/team, but there are a lot of guys that have multiple D1 offers that would fit our team

McCarney did sign JUCOs when he needed them.  In fact, nine in his final class!  I think it became the other way around - he relied too heavily on them in the end because his prep signees weren't working out well.

Some of these guys never showed up, just like many JUCOs.  But, some were quite good.  Some will be in the bowl game this season with us: Finney, Gray, Combs, and Thompson from the 2015 JUCO signees.

CB DQ Johnson, Iowa Western CC, 2012

CB James Jones, Kilgore, 2013
DE Quenton Brown, Eastern Arizona, 2013
TE Chris Loving, Blinn, 2013
OL Justin Manu, Snow JC, 2013
OL Shawn McKinney, Trinity Valley, 2013

LB Akii Smith, NEO, 2014
OL Darren Denucci, Snow JC, 2014
QB Josh Greer, Navarro, 2014

WR Thaddeus Thompson, Scottsdale CC, 2015
LB Demetrious Cain, East Mississippi, 2015
DB Xavier Grindle, Pearl River CC, 2015
DE Jareid Combs, Iowa Central CC, 2015
DB James Gray, Fort Scott, 2015
OL Brian Ochs, Butler County, 2015
LB Dakota Smith, Trinity Valley, 2015
LB Cortney Finney, Trinity Valley, 2015
QB Damarcus Smith, Butler County, 2015

I worded that poorly. I meant to say that McCarney said his GOAL was to have mostly large high school classes. My disappointment was that he failed to do so. Which you've outlined very well. Sorry I wasn't more clear.

Here are a few big time kids that I'd bet we are actively recruiting:

DeAndre McNeal  WR Fullerton College (Mesquite Poteet - Texas)

Jalen Guyton WR Trinity Valley (Allen - Notre Dame)

When did this happen? Damn thats crazy..

Also, there is another WR from Fullerton, some 6'5 kid with speed but he is very thin.. Also, are lacking depth in this class because of the # of offers out to WRs?
