WKU Coach heading to Purdue?

Not to get on my soap box, but maybe this kind of mentality is what is propelling recruits to choose Power 5 schools over G5 schools.

I understand it's a business, but look what happened to Charlie Strong. He thought the grass was greener at UT and it came back to bite him. Yea he got paid, but was it really worth it?

Coaches aren't loyal to G5's so why should recruits even consider them?

I doubt there's as many G5's turning down P5's as you think.

Still, we just need similar recruits G5's like W. Michigan, Temple, WKY, La Tech, Ark St, Troy etc...are getting and we'll be fine.

Don't you wonder if Ed Oliver isn't kicking himself for having rejected all those P5 offers to play for Tom Herman?  Especially when he could have gone straight to UT and played for Herman anyway.

He is turning Pro after Soph year. For him it didn't matter where he played.

1.  He won't be eligible until the 2019 draft, after his junior year.

2.  Where you play can definitely affect where you get drafted.  Even if he dominates, some GMs might wonder whether he would dominate against tougher competition.  It won't keep him from going in the first round, but even losing a few positions in the first round can mean leaving a lot of money on the table.

3.  UH could make a bad hire, like it did with Levine.  With Herman, Oliver knew that a lot of winning lay ahead.  We can fairly assume that played a big part of him choosing UH over all the P5 offers.  If he ends up losing a bunch of games, he probably won't enjoy that, especially with it being at the G5 level.  A bad hire could also potentially hurt Oliver's production.

4.  No kisses before games.
