Thank You Seniors

Thank you to the following seniors for their efforts and contributions to North Texas football the past 4 to 5 years, 2-3 for the JUCO's, and 1 or 2 for transfers.

Malik Dilonga, Jareid Combs, Jarrian Roberts, Demonte Hood, Thaddeous Thompson, Trey Kennan, Alec Morris, John Schilleci, Fred Scott, Chad Davis, Eric Keena, Courtney Finney, Trey Enterline, Connor Davis, Garrett Gunter, James Gray, Sam Rice and Kenny Buyers.

I hated not being at the last home game, one I feel should be sold out every year in honor of the seniors.  It bothers me when the stands are empty while these young men are honored.  Watching the last episode of BTG, you realize what this means to these young men and I wish our fans, students, alumni, etc... made a greater effort to be there to honor them.

I believe I read that Hood has another year of eligibility. 

All deserve our applauds for their efforts in a mostly very challenging environment.   If my count is right there are only 8 scholarship players who made it all 4 or 5 years, special notice to them.

To those Seniors who stayed on the UNT Football train for the last four or five years...I admire your character and I salute your perseverance. You have earned our respect.

What a roller coaster ride for this Senior class.  

They get recruited to a crummy 4-8 team with the promise of moving to C-USA.  
They immediately go 8-5, win the Heart of Dallas Bowl, and watch their head coach get an extension... 
only to crash the following year (4-8)... 
then incinerate the next (1-11).  The coach who recruited them gets canned.  
A new guy comes in with a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT philosophy, they buy-in, and produce an incredible turnaround (5-7).  

I hope they get to go out with a bowl win.
