We have a higher APR than texasTexas

Yeah but Armed Forces bowl committee will push hard for anyone but us. Honestly same with the other bowls we are looking at. We may end making a good team very disappointed either way.

The same projection put Texas in the Heart of Dallas Bowl against UTSA.

If UT goes to a bowl, they don't want Navy.  If UT goes to a bowl, we could be their preferred dance partner.

Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl

Amon G. Carter Stadium, Fort Worth, TX, 4:30 ET, ESPN
Navy vs. Big 12
Navy vs. *North Texas
*No Big 12 team projected available, North Texas in on APR

Nirvana for us who live about 30 minutes from Amon Carter Stadium.  Don't think it will happen but how many other things have many of us been wrong about since 2-a-days?

I don't see the Armed Forces Bowl..(TCU donor backed) ever allowing SMU or NT play in that game.

What are they going to do?  Not have the game?  At that point we may be the last bowl eligible team... are they just going to tell the other team already in to scrimmage?

Another projection for Las Vegas. Vice Sports, who are pretty good in my opinion. UNT vs. Wyoming.

  1. Whoever made that table an image instead of text deserves a special place in Hell.
  2. USM will be in New Orleans, the bowl and the school want that badly.
  3. They seem to think Colorado State in in CUSA.
  4. I would take Las Vegas over Arizona or Idaho, but I think Arizona is the most likely right now.

You don't think Arizona will be filled by the existing conference tie-ins? Wouldn't that take Boise State going to New Years 6 or both SBC teams losing? I think Western Michigan should have the NY6 locked up and I don't see both USA and ULL losing.

I'm not sure how far down they are...but if they lobby for us to go elsewhere, assuming there are enough APR spots for them to get a bowl, they could try to use their weight to have us go elsewhere...or even have us be their opponent.

@Cerebuscan you clarify: do APR scores and ranks dictate who the bowls choose? For example, our higher APR score means a bowl is obligated to choose us over Texas?

Yes once you get done to APR scores for eligibility, they must be taken in order.

Don't rule out Heart of Dallas.  They want UNT pretty bad.

It's interesting because it was assumed that would be the premier bowl destination in CUSA for the champion because of the Big 10 opponent. Now, it's looking like it could be a G5 opponent and a not very good one at that. I am betting WKU wins the championship and takes the Boca Raton regardless. LaTech may not want HoD when they hear about the opponent.
