Has our stadium ever hosted a concert? That was a big promise made in the push to get it financed.
Since then, streaming and other changes have forced musicians to go on tour all the time to make money. Here in St. Augustine, Florida, we had an amphitheater in a public park we were only using for a yearly state history play, and now The Amp is a major venue getting big-name acts all the time. DATCU would be a desirable concert venue.

The ACC F’d up admitting SMU and it is hilarious that SMU is letting them keep their money but is taking their trophy. I can’t stand SMU, but I am impressed with how they have expertly maneuvered this situation.
The current era of college athletics with unlimited NIL is perfect for SMU. Better make hay while the sun is shining because once there are caps on spending, the Ponies will be sent back to the barn.
And the biggest key is administrative support, which UNT clearly lacks. Our Board of Trustees has aligned the university to pursue athletics to support the academic mission of the school and we're all pulling the same direction.
