It could hurt us when it comes to where to go.  If UTSA wins tomorrow there will be 7 CUSA bowl eligible teams but only 6 CUSA bowls.  Someone will get put into a non CUSA put bowl game and who knows where that might be.

I have a weird intuition that Charlotte is going to beat UTSA. Probably not but my spider senses are buzzing. It will be a Odd circumstance though if 7 Teams are Bowl eligible. It would be interesting to see who goes where

This probably bumps us out of the New Orleans Bowl.  Looking more like Bahamas or Hawaii for us.

HoD, Boca, NOB are for sure out of play.

Bahamas, Hawaii, and New Mexico are in play, but if UTSA wins tomorrow we probably end up in a non CUSA bowl.

MTSU probably takes Hawaii to give Stockstill time to heal.  So if we do get a CUSA bowl it will most likely be NM or Bahamas.

39-24 with seconds to go. Mullens returned.   That's the difference a starting QB can make.

Rick

They must have had some defensive players come back from injury as well. Mullens did not cause a high powered offense like La Tech to score only 24 points.

We beat the team USM put on the field.  That's the best we could do.  I'm not sure why a fan would denigrate their own team's success.

MTSU seems unlikely to be sent to Hawaii after going to the Bahamas last year.

The late date would give their qb extra time to heal.

LaTech will want  Dallas.

WKU will want Boca.

USM will want NO.

MTSU won't want Bahamas again, Hawaii is a week after New Mexico.

Wasn't denigrating anything, just fact.   I should have known to include a safe space in my post..geez.

So miss had a good day on defense.  LaTech got a late garbage time TD to make the game closer.  Mullens had a great day like the defense did, so that's why it was such a big margin.  Another latech TD came off of a fumble return.  So Miss shut them down.  Higgins for latech was 22 for 39 for 246 no TDS and 3 picks.

I'd say so....

29 of 33 for 345 yards and 3 td's.

Southern Miss had a lot more on the line. Southern Miss needed the win to be bowl eligible.  LA Tech needed the win for "home" field advantage in the conference championship game, which still wouldn't have been in Ruston because they've already started the offseason renovations on their stadium.

If we win today both us and USM will be 4-4 and we have the tiebreak. Do we not get to choose ahead of them? If that's not how it works then in reality CUSA is just going to send teams where they see fit.

CUSA champion gets to choose for itself, then the rest of the bowls individually choose for themselves. CUSA front office has very little say.

So, since the HOD probably won't have a P5 team in it, why wouldn't La Tech take the N.O. Bowl?  And if La Tech did take the HOD, why wouldn't the NOB choose us over others?
