What is Mason Fine's status?  I heard he was injured during the WKU game...any word on how seriously?  Thanks.

I was looking up the injury that Fine appears to have, as earlier indicated by reports, which appears to be an AC joint injury. Here's a pretty nice site explaining the injury and the typical recovery time. Depending on the Grade of the injury, Grade1-4, he could be out for as little as a week, but most are saying 2-6 weeks.

I doubt they will risk it if he is even questionable and I'd imagine we will see Morris this next game against S.Miss.

I also want to add that Im not a doctor, nor do I have any insight to the situation.  These are just my opinions.

It all depends how bad the sprain is.  If it's super mild he could play this week with some discomfort, if it's a bad sprain he could be done till (if) we go bowling

I had that injury to my throwing shoulder not long ago.  I could throw the ball but it was big time painful the first few weeks. I probably could've come in a game and thrown a few balls but if I'd have had to sling it 20+ times I'd probably want to crawl in a hole and cry. Unless they have ridiculously good pain meds I wouldn't count on him playing.

Fine was ruled as doubtful in today's presser. That could change between now and Saturday but Littrell seemed pretty certain Fine wouldn't be playing this weekend (from what I observed).

Don't need Fine - Jenkins is back.  Defense.  Saturday is on Ekeler and Reffett.  Shut down USM, and we're in a bowl game...and, yes, I know we'll only be at five wins.  But, our APR is going to bail us is we lose to UTEP.

1 Win and a bowl game(hopefully), on top of another 2/3 weeks of practice for these Freshman and Sophomores.. Those extra 2/3 weeks of practice are huge for these young guys

Absolutely! Also is a fantastic recruiting tool as well to show that you went to a bowl game !

Yeah, but as I understand it, we only go bowling with 5 wins and a great GPA if there are no other 6 win teams available

Based on whose projections you believe there will be between 75-77 six win (with only one of them being FCS) FBS teams for 80 bowl slots.
