agree with what vito said.  our receivers need to make sure they are past the sticks on the short routes.  one drive we were 3-3 passing for 9 yards.   We also can't drop passes that hit the receivers in the hands. I don't think we are that far from being a decent time but the little things add up.  LATECH receivers got separation and we still need to learn how to do that.

Yes on all. But there were several times the receivers were past the sticks, turned and saw Fine being chased and came back to make the pass easier. There has to be a balance between coming back to help the QB and staying close enough to fall for the 1st down. It's not easy, but no one said playing FBS football was easy!

Fine was sacked five times and chased around even more. Our running game was under 100 yards. Wilson had some good runs early in the game with some room to run. But his run for a first down in the 4th quarter when we needed a couple of yards for a first, WAS ALL HIM. Wilson practically carried half of the La Tech defense for two or three yards whilst I screamed from the stands IS ANYONE GOING TO BLOCK FOR THIS GUY?  Their QB was sacked once. La Tech just (re) exposed a glaring deficit with our team........both lines. We mostly got whipped on both sides of the line.

This is where I remind everyone how the Cowboys built their (so far) winning season. They chose the Zack Martins of the world instead of the Manziels.

This game really made me miss Buyers at corner.  Would've been nice to see someone actually tackle Henderson.

Mostly, though, our front 7 just got flat out whipped... Both in scheme and execution.  Western Kentucky is going to be a brutal but kicking, I'm afraid.

With all due respect, I'm not certain that we have anyone on our roster who can cover (or tackle) Henderson. That kid was the best player on the field, and given his YPC of 20+, I would expect that he gets a nice chance to play on a Sunday's.
