I remember when this hire was made and he was making all those dumb 'Row the Boat' videos i just considered him to be a poor man's version of coach Bro and he would soon fail.

but, his team is 8-0, has beaten two big ten programs and the only close game has been against Northwestern in the season opener.

It gives me hope that we can make a similar turn in 3-4 years...

Their crowd situation sounds very similar to ours and i can only hope that we don't end up in the same scenario.

Good article. But I think an 8-0 UNT team would sellout Apogee this Saturday night. I'm just about positive of it.

Crazy? Grand Rapids is under an hour drive from Kalamazoo. I drive 5 hours one way for UNT home games.

Every year we cherry pick some unlikely G5 team who's tearing it up. First one I remember was Ball St. Then there was Buffalo. Northern Illinois. June Jones Hawaii. Others have come and gone. None have sustained save Boise.

2013 was a nice year. I want more of those. Not much interested in a one and done 10-2 year.

all schools that have cut their teeth in the MWC...

Every year there is some example of a "team doing it right", or a new coach who was the "right hire". How many of them disappeared within one or two years?

Call me nutso, but I am to the point where I look for sustained success.

Looks like a sustained turnaround to me...

Maybe just push the issues from why don't we get to 20k to why aren't we selling out Apogee?

Really no doubt we would have 25k every game with that kind of run.

This is not a flash in the pan, sir. Their recruiting has been exceptional since Fleck got there after the 2012 season. Been mentioning it on here for a couple years now.
