The current SOW is a classic design that doesn't need to be changed, IMHO. Stick with it, market the hell out of it and it will be very recognizable when we start winning consistently and drawing more attention.

Y'all do know the carbon fiber helmets are just the Green/Black SOW Helmets with a graphic over them right? One of my buddies got Drew Miller's helmet from the HOD bowl and it's peeling off pretty badly

Not only is it the most ascetically pleasing, it is also the most unique. The two tone green and white is perfect. I have no idea why we ever stopped using this helmet and uniform. If we would have kept this look, today our helmets and uniforms would be as recognizable as any other FBS/D1 program that has been around for 100 years.

these are my exact thoughts... the flying worm is so great and so undeniably UNT that i wish we would go back to it.

SOW is great, but it looks horrible on a helmet.

I just don't understand this thought.  What is it about the SOW that you think makes it look bad on a helmet?

With it needing to dive to the front of the helmet, it just doesn't fit right. The face mask/cut out area takes a good chunk of the space where it dives to. So you either get it blending into the mask and/or blocked by chinstraps (left), change the angle which makes it unrecognizable (middle) or you have to make it small and push it up high which makes it look like those cheap plastic replica helmets you get out of the quarter machines at Red Robin (right).

You really think these look good?

I don't care for the SOW that's lost its head under the facemask.  A little smaller would be better with white on green and green on white.  I'd still like to see a superimposed NT that is similar to the one used by the Alumni Association.

Any helmet that sports NT would be great. I like the 1-AA the best

Is the flying worm only for NT?

I would think some other school would have used it by now. High school or div 2 or 3
