If someone sits behind me and yells at anyone on the sidelines for any reason, I'll ask him politely to stop. If he continues to do it, I'll ask stadium security to talk with him. I don't pay for season tickets to have someone bellow in my ear the whole game.

What about on 3rd downs? After touchdowns? Interceptions? Sacks? Big hits?

The only time I addressed another fan was two years ago.  They man sitting behind me cussed a blue streak at the refs, MacCarney, etc... every time something didn't work out the way he thought it should.  I finally asked him to ease up on the cussing since I had an 8 year old with me and sitting directly in front of him.  Other than that, they paid to come to an event and cheer, boo, etc...

Tell that to the kids who quit to the tune of 66-7 last season.

Of course, it's bullshit.  But, it's also human nature to not buy in if you feel you are being treated unfairly - and, for kids in this generation, there's no telling how low that bar is.

It's not human nature. It's a lack of discipline. Real World- you're not getting what you want? Work to get where you want to be. If you're not going to get it? 2 choices- be a grown up and fulfill your obligations or GTFO.  But don't act like s douchebag if you're not getting your way.

They were probably yuking it up and laughing at the douchebags they saw in the stands getting their panties in a wad over their perceived behavior of kids half their age on the sidelines.

Probably.

I actually had this happen at our bowl game. The guy was already hammered! After a brief discussion it was all good! I don't understand the part were people are told to sit down! That is BS

Simply because you don't like the direction that's taken doesn't give you carte blanche to half-ass anything.  Simply because I don't like the direction that a dude who recently assumes command of a senior unit and I'm on my way out to a new position doesn't mean I get to just mail it in because I'm not happy- it means I still show up like a grown up and do my job, because if I don't the mission fails.  Regardless as to how far down on the depth chart some of these guys may be, they're still on the kill chain and need to act like it because their actions matter.

I can't tell if you're saying it shouldn't happen, or if you don't understand why it happens.

when sitting in the stands it is important to remember you aren't the kid's daddy, you aren't his coach, you aren't his teacher, you aren't his boss. You have zero responsibility or right to provide lessons on smiling, the appropriate amount of fun to have in life, the appropriate amount of chuckles, or when to dance or celebrate

I believe it is possible to win and have fun. And lose and have fun (a necessarily less amount than the winning combo).

When the University asks you for money I believe you get a say. However, how it is delivered will depend on its effectiveness.

Its not funny getting drilled in your own house and that guy wasn't having any of it.

Thank you to that gentleman...who ever he was.

Rick

I don't quite get how losing is all of a sudden not acceptable because some dude got thrown out for yelling at kids. I remember folks yelling at the OC (Flanagan-getting outcoached! leads to physical confrontation), the qb (pick any but I think Meager got it the worst), head coach(Dickey-throw the ball Dickey!, Dodge-shotgun isn't a goal line formation!). RV got David Banner'd by @UNT90 and he damn well deserved it looking back. I'm not sure losing has ever been acceptable here, the fans have been pissed off about it forever but we just haven't found the recipe(save a few years) for success.

I think all these under-30s within our program is the change we needed. They look at us as a stepping stone and I'm ok with that. Nobody should have the job security RV had. He and Mac, a guy who is in the twilight of his career, saw our program as stable with low expectations and they could just get by. They've learned that the new prez disagrees. Our new staff is young and hungry. I got a feeling the sky is beginning to clear for us. Go Mean Green. Beat Marshall.

Your say is in the medium of giving money / not giving money. Not yelling at the players. However, a good shout at the coach, who is an adult, well paid, and ultimately responsible for any results on the field is more acceptable.

I don't know why we just can't act like RESPONSIBLE, COLLEGE EDUCATED ADULTS?

Sideline behavior not appropriate?  How about you contact the head coach or the AD, both are very accessible.

CSC staff acting unprofessional?  Contact their supervisor and if that fails contact the AD.

CSC enforcing a rule you don't like?  Contact the AD, who makes those rules.

Another fan acting inappropriate? Politely inform them their behavior is appropriate.  Contact CSC if they aren't amenable.

At no point is this the correct behavior:
