I don't know what caused this, but I just recalled a head coach at TCU that had a car crash (DWI ?) and was paralyzed and finished his TCU career coaching from a golf cart.  I thought it was F. A. Dry but his wicapedia didn't mention an auto accident (and no, I'm not thinking of Kent Waldrop).  Does anyone recall this or is this the result of too many chess club concussions ?

It was Coach Billy Tohill,  Judge Joe.

In fact I know exactly where he had his accident being a former FW resident.  Seems he lost part of his foot, too, &.....I don't think they ever found it!?   (I know, I could go to the hot spot for saying that).?

He was out at that time of morning when very few good things ever happen & that's all I'm going to say about that, too.

GMG!

PS: Kent Waltdrop was from my home county SW of Houston--Brazoria County & I think he played for the Alvin HS Yellowjackets if my memory serves me correct.

I remember as a little kid when his predecessor at TCU Jim Pittman (had to look up the name) dropped dead on the sidelines against Baylor in Waco. It made an impression on me since it happened pretty much right in front of us at the beginning of the game. Oh for the days when half the population were chain smokers.
