A month into the new season, and I observe the following:

1)  The AD is clearly making efforts to treat us like paying customers.  The emails, the updates, the solicitations for ticket purchases.  I like all of it.

2)  I haven't met TheWren™ yet, but I've met Coach Litrrell twice.  My bullshit meter doesn't move with him at all.  I find him humble, funny, appreciative of the opportunity and the fans, and fierce.  Unbelievably fierce.  He's not here for a paycheck (Cough..Mac...cough) and he's not unwaveringly confident in a ridiculous high school system.  He's methodical.

3)  There's a different vibe at the games.  The fans are happy again, even in the face of a loss.  They're excited.  People are friendly again.

4)  Hell, at the last game, even Tony Benford randomly came up to me, shook my hand, and said, "Hey man, thanks for coming out."

5)  Even if our two wins have been against less than stellar teams, I don't think I've ever seen a 2-2 start in my time here.  That we're winning games at all, against anybody, with the current roster, and the experiences of last year, speaks volumes to the coaching and the players buying in.  I haven't seen this team lie down for anybody no matter what situation they find themselves in. This season is a HUGE step forward regardless of final record.

Things are different.  And I like it.

We went 2-2 in 14. Of course we all saw how that ended in 15.....

1-3 in 2013, but you're right about 14.  Funny I didn't remember that.

Well that's what I get for listening to the guys on the radio. Hank said we have only gone 2-2 three times (97,13, and 14). Maybe we need fact checkers. I would happily get paid by the athletic department to look them up :)

Great post.   And great perspective.   We haven't fixed anything yet but there is a palpable difference in the team, the energy, the enthusiasm and the fort.   I couldn't be more stoked about this team and this department.   I only hope that they can keep it up !

Excellent post and perspective. It's good to see the fanbase positive with the changes in leadership within the Athletic Department and Football program. Baker and Littrell are young superstars and we are going to realize this long talked about "potential" under them.
