Holy snap, Wilson and Buyers with 75 yard TD plays.  Looking forward to the highlight video!

Pretty weird to read people say of Buyers, "a career best".

The big plays were huge.  Been saying we didn't  have any game breakers on this team, and these guys shut my mouth.  And thank goodness for that!!

I woke up to a win. Was having trouble with the stream last night and after Rice scored that TD in OT , I turned off the computer and said the Hell with this only to wake up this morning and see we won.

Absolutely. Don't forget Buyers also had a 60 yard TD to begin the second half negated by a hold.

So we knew Gunter was hurt, hence Woodworth getting the nod, but who did Henson start for?

Gunter. Henson started at right guard, where Gunter normally does

Oh?  So Woodworth started for Murray?   Was he injured?   I thought Woodworth was working at G?

Correct. I don't think Murray was so much hurt as he was bad against Florida. Starting 5 up front was Woodworth-Rice-Barr-Henson-Keenan

Gunter got hurt when he subbed for Henson later in the game

Murray struggled against Bethune Cookman, too.

Pass blocking was very bad. He's young and very big. Needs a little bit more time.

I think Murray can be fantastic at his position, but he still has a lot of work to do with regards to the mechanics of playing on the end of the line at his size. In both the SMU game and BCU he was routinely getting beat around the edge. From my observation, his first step is slow and he sets his feet too early. Those are mechanical things that he can improve on, and I think he will. Go Mean Green!

My not so quick thoughts on Rice game:

Really wish I had gone to Houston, a lot less tension than trying to watch on Owl vision

Sound when available was dominated by NT fans and travel band, great job

Fine continues to grow, have now completely forgotten he is too short to play big time football

Offensive line still very much a work in progress

Wide receivers took a needed step up

Wilson, my grandson's jr. mean green buddy had great game

Defense continued to progress

Another solid game by defensive backfield

Special teams not as great as last week, but satisfactory

Schilleci great tackle on Rice punt return

Finney and Combs, 2nd year Jucos,  play getting better and better

Surprised at speed NT has this year

Wilson boys, Ivery, and despite some opinions: Buyers has never been slow

Hope and think this game will carry over to the MUTS game.
